Former Krier Editor in Chief makes Illinois all-state journalism team

On Monday evening, June 27, the Kaneland School Board recognized Madeline Mohatt with a certificate for making the Journalism All-State Team.

“I was so surprised and just overjoyed really,” Mohatt said.

Mohatt was nominated by advisor Kimberly Reese. The All-State Team is made up of people who have redeeming qualities such as the energy, dedication and all around interest in doing whatever it takes to make their school media the best it can be. Mohatt expresses all these qualities and more.

The Kaneland Krier would not be what it is today without Mohatt’s leadership skills and behind the scenes work. She will continue to pursue a double major in PR and marketing at the University of Nebraska.

*At this time the Krier would also like to recognize Nick Boose and Gabby Cano for also making All-State in past years.
