The Kaneland varsity volleyball team lines up for their game.

Bump, set, spike is the name of the game as the Kaneland girls varsity Volleyball team took home a win against Hampshire on September 6th.

It was a close two matches but they won the first one 25-22 and the second one 25-19. The girls went into the second match a little slower and were down, but rallied to come back and get the win.

“I think we work really well together. A lot of us have been playing together for two years now and we’re all really good friends so our team’s chemistry is really good,” senior Katie Jablonski said.

The volleyball team has a record of 10 wins and 4 losses in the regular season but have not started conference games yet.

They are hoping to continue helping each other and get better as a team, and make big things happen.

“I hope the connection we all have on the court grows more and more to make us an even stronger team, hopefully going to state,” senior Julianna Vassallo said.

Jablonski had an awesome game, having 12 digs, 1 ace, 11 kills and 3 assist.

“I was definitely up and down this game but my team really helps me play better,” Jablonski said.

The girls’ next game is September 11th at Dekalb, starting at 6:00.
