United States and Israel launch attack on Iran
Starting Feb. 28, the United States and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran, targeting multiple weapons facilities running nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
The attacks were part of a mission titled “Operation Epic Fury” by the U.S. government, which aimed to eliminate military threats across Iran.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth issued a statement stating that there was not yet a date that would mark the end of the war, instead saying that when the time comes President Donald Trump will announce such a date.
Iran began launching attacks on nearby U.S. allies, as the U.S. and Israel have continued their own attacks against Iran.
No Kings
Saturday, March 28, marked the first No Kings protest to take place in 2026, following previous protests of the same name in June and October 2025.
The protests make points to call out authoritarian views and actions by the Trump administration and center focus on social issues that have shadowed the current administration.
The protest on Saturday was considered the biggest protest on a single day in U.S. history. The protest organization estimated that a rough eight to nine million attendees were present, surpassing that of the previous two No Kings protests.
The protests in June and October were said to have had attendees at an estimated five and seven million respectively.
